Actor Ellen Pompeo is executive producing a television adaptation of the author’s Paradise trilogy of novels, while Hulu plans to adapt a series based on three of Hilderbrand’s novels set in Nantucket. The Hotel Nantucket is one of a few adaptations of Hilderbrand’s novels that are in the works. The author, who made her literary debut in 2000 with The Beach Club, is a fixture on the bestseller charts she’s known for her popular beach-read romances. It’s the 28th book by Hilderbrand, who announced last summer that she plans to retire from writing fiction in 2024. It could hardly be more fun than this book.” In a starred review, a critic for Kirkus wrote of the book, “Honestly, who needs Nantucket. Hilderbrand’s novel, published in June by Little, Brown, tells the story of a Massachusetts hotel haunted by the ghost of a chambermaid who was killed in a fire a century before, and its general manager, who’s being courted by an ex-boyfriend. Kroll has previously served as an executive producer on the films A Star Is Born, Motherless Brooklyn, and Birds of Prey. Sue Kroll plans to executive produce a series based on the novel for Warner Bros. Elin Hilderbrand’s The Hotel Nantucket is headed to the small screen, Deadline reports.
